Warming yule blog

This year I finally did it. Not a single X-mas gift bought or received. And it’s not merely because I’m cheap. People have finally figured out that I don’t “get it”. Fighting crowds in multi-national chain stores to spend borrowed money because the Gregorian calendar states that a religious figure I don’t worship was born around this time a couple milennia ago? Huh?

Who needs a sled? Thank you global melting!

Were I to enter into a gift trade per modern custom, the only item I could conceive of “needing” would be carbon offsets. (more…)

Calming the savage beast

Big news of late in TLP land is all about the music. Thanks to Facebook and Craigslist, we have been getting offers from talented artists, and plenty more from less talented ones. Securing our top choice to do the soundtrack was the big score (pun intended). Our new guy, 18 year-old Hamilton Cleverdon, is a boy wonder of sorts with loads of talent. His work can also be heard on Facebook here.

We have some decent indie & surf rock bands on board, but aren’t quite ready to stop the rock n roll star search just yet. We do have a Myspace page but frankly the ads there work like aversion therapy. If you have artistic friends with mad skills on Myspace or wherever, consider this the casting call for a chance to get on board near the ground floor on this ever growing project. I’m a much bigger fan of Facebook; the link to my profile can be found to the right.

Many monitors

How many computers can you count? On the one in the middle is a picture of Phil, our cameraman from Quebec who was a camera-wielding superhero in Sumatra.
