Sorry, I know this website and blog should remain non-partisan, but it is one of the most important elections in American history, and the most important of my lifetime. I just can’t stay silent on this issue anymore! I’m sure some of you are shocked at the title of this post, especially those of you who have known me for years. But I have my reasons. Yes, THE Sundance Film Festival.

We are submitting our project for consideration to the independent movie event of the year.

It is another exciting step on the path to finding a home for “The Laughing Planet” after working so hard for the past 18 months. In reality, Herb & I have worked on this idea for over 3 1/2 years.

It sure would be nice if we got compensated somehow. Even just seeing our work at a festival of this caliber would help make it all seem worth it.

It was a busy day at the sound studio today. I can’t talk much at this stage. Nearly 75% of the movie is re-voiced. Pat is a sound guru making the magic happen faster and better than I thought possible. We will have top-shelf noise to go with our colorful video & hilarious script within days. Life in the land of TLP has never looked (or sounded) better!

• Update Friday, Sept. 5:

The final 25% or so went by in a heartbeat (2 hours or so).

We are now doing the final sound mix and will have a completed product ready for film festivals in a matter of days. This is the moment we have worked so hard to reach since we began shooting in March ‘07, over 18 months ago.
