Hello all! I say “all” knowing that producers get very little fan mail. For those of you who look deep into TLP you will find me there. Over a year ago, I began the adventure of helping TLP become a reality and now I have jumped on another adventure. I jumped from an airplane at 18,000 feet, flew for 12,000 feet and floated the rest of the way to earth. I have never liked heights but have always tested this fear by bungee jumping, jumping into mountain rivers from 75 feet and challenging my limits. This was one of the most amazing things I have done. Remember to get out of your comfort zone and test the world, I did and now it’s your turn.

The controversial comedy used in Juno brings up an interesting debate about the nature of humor. Without pushing the limits of comfortable comedy we will never be able to challenge sad but ridiculous truths about our world. Director Jason Reitman and screenwriter Diablo Cody said in an email statement to the San francisco Chronicle that the line comparing iPods to adoptions was intended to show the ignorance of a teenager, and I would say many others, towards adoption and the world.
Cody stated it well to the Chronicle, “Juno’s remark is meant to be casually insensitive in that wince-inducing, quintessentially tennage way,” she writes. “The iPod line is a moment of sublime, rediculous brattiness that was meant to be amusing. It’s the kind of thing a kid who’d never experienced that pain would say.” During an interview on NPR, Cody said that the success of the movie is nice but the appreciation of families touched by adoption was the greatest reward for her.
How are you gonna change your world today? Why not try a little laughter?
Have you ever been frustrated trying to find what you need in a store or in your town? Well imagine that you need something from the other side of the world. After calling Laos for hours, I was losing hope. There were a few nice people I spoke to that tried to help but I still wasn’t getting anywhere. Someone gave me a phone # of an office that might help. The kind voice that said “Sabaidee”, or hello, told me that he could not help me because he was a travel office. Then I explained that I needed help and he told me to call back in 10 minutes. I did and he had a phone # and contact name for the person I needed to contact. He told me to call back in 5 minutes and he would have a cell # for me. I just have to thank Mr Phisanou with www.alllaotravel.com for his time and help.
Just goes to show you that we’re not gonna get anywhere in this world without from our friends and our friends yet to be.
